Railroad Pottery— New Clay Gallery Opens in Moncure

September 13, 2020

Lee Kazanas recently completed an upstairs gallery to display his pottery above his studio, along the CSX rail line In the village of Moncure.

After relocating alongside the railroad tracks in Moncure nearly ten years ago, he renovated the basement of a deteriorating 1890s former station master’s house, to create his pottery studio. That completed project now houses a creative interior and outdoor space to hold all pottery making equipment. The next challenge was to transform another room in the building into a gallery, a project he completed early this spring. It now proudly displays an assortment of pieces, the newest phase of which features more hand-built objects, garden totems, and a large array of agateware.

Please find RAILROAD POTTERY in Moncure, on Instagram, and stay tuned for his website coming shortly. It is located right behind the Moncure Post Office. Gallery hours are by appointment only. For a visit, contact Lee. He looks forward to meeting you!
