Jody Nash’s “Beginning Coiled Pine Needle Basketmaking Workshop” is happening in downtown Pittsboro at the Pittsboro Gallery of Arts on two consecutive Saturdays – August 17 and 24 from Noon to 4pm.
Basketmaking can be a deeply meditative and solo experience and working in a group setting offers a great way to commune with other creatives. No experience is necessary. This 2-session class is suited to the basketmaking-curious as well as those with some experience.
Jody has been making coiled pine needle baskets for over 12 years. She is a member of the Chatham Artists Guild and the National Basketry Organization. Her baskets are reminiscent of the California Native American basket weavers and the coiled weavers of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Learn More about your instructor here.
