Annabelle Stein’s new artworks are playful expressions showing how opposites can work elegantly together. The show is titled Plantasia & Geologics. Enjoy an opening reception on Friday, January 31 | 6pm – 8pm at the Cary Arts Center.
Primarily known for her textile wearables and wall pieces, these small-scale sculptures are inspired by natural objects such as botanicals, earth formations, rocks, and shells. The artist explores many ways to use cement, cloth, and copper wire in their assembly.
“I enjoy the rigidity and structural nature of the cement and its interplay with other softer media. Welcome to my whimsical world view.”
The exhibit is open now and runs through March 23. The Cary Arts Center is located at 101 Dry Avenue, Cary NC. Gallery Hours are Mon -Thurs 9am-10pm / Fri 9am -10:30pm / Sat 9am – 10:30pm / Sun1-6pm. Parking is free.
