Medalists in Chatham County Senior Games and SilverArts are eligible to compete in the North Carolina State Games.
Bobby Izquierdo’s still-life “Wildflowers on Rustic Wood,” takes first place in the digital
photography category in the 2025 Chatham County Senior Games & SilverArts.
Bobby creates fine art photographs that look like paintings. To do this, he uses special
software to turn regular photos into art. Recently, he has focused on turning daytime
photos into nighttime scenes. For more information, visit Bobby’s website or email bobbyizq@bobbyizquierdophoto.com.
Ruth Parks’ art received two first places – “Peace and Harmony” and “Two Sided
Giesha”. Ruth brings her imaginative artistry and community spirit to the Pittsboro
Center for Active Living, where she volunteers by teaching acrylic painting classes to
seniors. Known for her inventive use of materials—transforming wires into alien
spacecraft frameworks and fabrics into mythical wings—Ruth encourages her students
to explore their own creativity and storytelling through art. Contact Ruth for more information at artsndesign@verizon.net.
