Chatham Artists Guild has been awarded a 2025-2026 Grassroots Grant from the Chatham Arts Council, funded by the North Carolina Arts Council. It will be used to develop and provide free visual arts workshops for all visual artists, teachers and high school students in Chatham County, including all CAG members.
Two workshops are planned per month between January and May 2026. Each one will be facilitated by a professional CAG member artist and cover topics such as Working by Commissions, Gelatin Printing, Fused Glass, Weaving, How to Photograph 3-D Art, Getting into Galleries and more.
This year, the Guild is one of several organizations receiving a Grassroots Grant designated for Chatham County non-profits. These dollars help to fund artists and to carry the arts into every corner of the county. Grassroots grants are made possible by individual contributions to the Chatham Arts Council’s general operating fund and by the Grassroots Arts Program of the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
