I enjoy exploring the natural beauty found in wood, creating a form that brings out the wood’s natural color and unique grain. It is intriguing to turn different species of wood, exploring different grain patterns, colors, textures, and sometimes aromas. Also enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to securely hold the piece of wood so it can be mounted on the lathe then turned into the desired form. These include bowls, vases, ink pens, pepper mill and much more. I utilize mostly wood salvaged from urban settings, house sites and logging sites, giving it new life as a woodturning.
