Artist’s Statement: I consider myself an abstract expressionist and love finding new ways to evoke emotion. I work primarily in acrylics, experimenting with a wide array of media for texture. I am obsessed with color and the way variations connect and blend. I’m intrigued by the works of Wassily Kandinsky — his vibrant use of color and his evolution as an artist over time. I’m also fascinated with the works of Sonia Delaunay, Helen Frankenthaler, Juan Gris, Mark Rothko, and Jackson Pollock. I feel a kind of mindfulness and freedom when creating my art in solitude and silence.“Do the thing, and you’ll have the power.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
I would love to convey, especially to young people, the truth of this maxim. Nothing happens until you act. Be bold and create. You will be surprised at the talent wrapped within!
