2026-2027 School Year
Aspiring young artists rarely get the opportunity to learn about the “business side” of being an artist. The Chatham Artists Guild Emerging Artists Program is a free, juried program that’s unique and designed to fill this niche in the Chatham County, NC school district.

The program gives talented young artists hands-on experience in marketing, displaying, and selling their artwork as professional artists do. It provides participants with their own CAG professional artist mentor, informative workshops, display space in our Emerging Artists Booth at a local artists’ market, a gallery show here in Chatham County and a Certificate of Achievement when they’ve completed the program.

Program Components
- Program runs throughout the school calendar year, September 2026 – June 2027
- Applicants must be juried in by the CAG Education Committee to participate in the program
- Mentoring by a Chatham Artists Guild professional artist in the participant’s 2-D or 3-D area of interest
- 10-Hour participation requirement: 5 hours with a CAG mentor and 5 volunteer service hours at CAG events or exhibitions
