My name is Leigh Babcock, and I am a multidisciplinary artist originally from Newfoundland, Canada. I studied Fine Art and Art Education at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Nova Scotia. My work primarily focuses on sculpture and assemblage, with a particular emphasis on found objects and metal.
In addition to these mediums, I engage in a broader range of artistic practices, exploring glass, ceramics, and textiles as part of my interdisciplinary approach. I often work in small series centered on a unifying theme, which allows for material exploration and the development of cohesive visual narratives. I recently relocated to Pittsboro from Virginia and continue to create work informed by place, process, and storytelling.
