I am a graduate of the University of Georgia, with a B.F.A. in Fine Art and Art Education. I opened my first studio in 2000 in Decatur, GA, working by commission and as a teaching artist for museums and schools throughout Greater Atlanta. I was also Artist in Residence for a multi-cultural church where I often facilitated art workshops for children, adults and seniors. Growing up, our family lived in Zimbabwe, Southern Africa. Since then, I have lived in or traveled to many places throughout the USA, Central America and Europe. As a result, it’s easy to see that my work is inspired the peoples and cultures I’ve known. I paint primarily in acrylics, drawing from things I love, find beautiful or want to remember. Being new to North Carolina, I am very keen to become part of a group of local, highly talented, active and enthusiastic artists. The Chatham Artists Guild offers this as well as wonderful exposure. It would be an honor to be included in your circle.
