Kathy Flood
I became serious about drawing and painting about 25 years ago. I took many adult education classes and workshops to develop my skills in drawing and watercolor. I then started a small business of portrait painting. In an effort to “get better,” I decided to go back to school and earn Associates Degree in Fine Arts.
I mainly paint in watercolors and do commission work painting people, pets and homes. Dogs are my specialty. Our canine friends speak to us through their eyes, and facial expressions. I try to capture that emotion through the magic of watercolor.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with others, and teach drawing and watercolor painting in my home studio in Chapel Hill, NC.
I am a Silver Signature Member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina and a member of the National Watercolor Society. I have received many awards for my watercolors and drawings. My favorite award was given by the Watercolor Society of North Carolina. It was the M. Graham & Co. award wherein I received $400 worth of paints!I teach drawing, watercolor painting and acrylic pouring in my home studio in Briar Chapel, and I love sharing my passion with children and adults alike.
