Emerging Artists Program

2026-2027 School Year

Aspiring high school artists rarely get the opportunity to learn about the “business side” of being a working artist. The Chatham Artists Guild Emerging Artists Program (CAG EAP) is a free, juried program that’s unique and designed to fill this niche in the Chatham County, NC school district.

Artist Mentor Lee Kazanas with Tumani Sissoko
Artist Mentor Cassie Ancona with Carolina Rice
Artist Mentor Lynn Flyer with Charline Jiminez Rojo

To gain hands-on experience in marketing, pricing, displaying, and selling their artwork, all participants are paired with their own CAG artist mentor, take part in informative workshops, and create a new artwork to exhibit and sell at a Fine Arts gallery here in Chatham County. They also earn school community service credits for helping our artists at the Guild’s annual Spring Festival. At the close of the program, each receives a CAG EAP Certificate of Achievement for their records.
