I started my journey as a painter in January 2016. I am self taught in that I have never attended formal art school, but throughout my life I have taken courses in all types of creative avenues including pottery, drawing, piano, theater and even dance for a short time. Art was always my favorite subject in school. As a scientist, my painting is always experimental. I try something and if that does not work, I try something different until I get it the way I want it to look. This can be frustrating at times, but I have learned persistence through this process. I receive inspiration from my travels and all of my life experiences. As a child my mother took me to museums and plays instilling in me a life long love of the arts. Her grandchildren called her BB based on her initials. I sign all of my paintings BBII in memory of my mother and because my first two initials are B as well. I primarily paint with acrylics on canvas, although I occasionally venture into painting on objects.
