I’ve been an artist all my life. Not always in the conventional sense, but my creativity has been the constant thread that weaves through the tapestry of my personal and professional pursuits. With a painting style that others have called expressionist and lyrical, my paintings develop over time with layer upon layer of colors and shapes that, like nature, convey the mysteries of the intangible elements of wind, atmosphere, scent and movement. Materials are applied, removed, and applied again—just like the ocean’s waves or the forest floor—creating subtle changes and fresh nuances of patterns.
My first public showings were held in 2019, shortly after completing studies under the tutelage of British abstract artist Louise Fletcher. In August of 2020, my painting ‘Tears of the Sun’ was featured on the cover of Genetics in Medicine, the official journal of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Since then, I have shown my work in many group exhibitions locally and online. Collectors of my work live as far away as California and Washington and as near as Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh.
