Having viewed many faces over the years as a nurse, I have honed my observation skills of the subtle nuances of humans and their multiple expressions. I now enjoy capturing these expressions with paint. I feel that each subject (animals included) has an inherent dignity and individual personality which I delight in rendering. Of particular interest to me is painting women doing their work around the world. Using primarily oil on canvas and traditional techniques, I also use gessoed ACM panel for larger works. Most of my work is on a commission basis.
Occasionally, natural subjects such as a clump of leaves, a luna moth, or clouds on a horizon beckon and I gladly heed the call to paint these as well.
Overall, my goal is to capture what I see with honesty and integrity.
