With my background in photography being photojournalism, telling a story is always my goal, I do consider myself a portraiture photographer as well. I want to create a connection with my subject and when that happens it’s communicated to the viewer.
I primarily work in black and white and strive the get the tones of the blacks and whites. I would say that most of my influences include Ansel Adams for teaching me the zone system, other greats like Imogen Cunningham, Dorothea Lange, Gordon Parks, Robert Freeman and Henri Cartier-Bresson.
While I fully appreciate the way that Color brings the image to life, I am drawn to the way black and white can capture the message that lies beneath the surface of color. I also love the challenge of lighting black and white whatever the subject.
I do offer private portrait sessions in my studio in North Chatham County, I also offer Documentary Photography Services, Unposed, candid photography capturing everyday routines, raw emotions, and milestones at home or on location and editorial and candid storytelling that tracks a wedding day without staging or interrupting the flow.
In one of my session we’ll work together to capture images that truly reflect the individual or the family you are. . Each session is unique and personal. I offer both digital and film sessions.
