Beth Bale has over 30 years of experience painting in watercolors, is a signature member of the Watercolor Society of NC, and is offering two 6 WEEK SERIES of watercolor classes at Clayworx in Pittsboro starting in May. The Beginner Series is for people who want to learn watercolor techniques to become more confident in their use of watercolor. Students will learn color mixing, brush selection, and how to paint clouds, grasses, trees, fur on animals, and other features in nature. No experience is necessary.
The Intermediate Series is for those who already have a solid understanding of basic watercolor painting techniques and maintain some habit of painting in watercolor. Intermediate students have some experience in techniques such as wet in wet, dry brush, lifting paint and using masking. Students will be challenged to
- create better compositions,
- use of multiple techniques with one painting,
- improve perspective/depth in their work,
- create useful sketches for their paintings,
- improve their use of values/contrast, and
- create their own style of painting.
