As an artist, even though I took a few elective art classes in school, I consider myself to be self-taught.. Growing up in the south of France near Montpellier.
I was never without an abundance of beauty in the world around me. For this reason, most of my inspiration for painting comes from the photographs I take when I’m back home in France. There’s something so moving about the natural landscapes from the south of France.
I also sometimes paint what I consider to be spiritual paintings, where the ideas come to me after meditations and spiritual experiences. My main medium has always been watercolor. I love the transparency and fluidity achieved by this media. The delicacy and subtleties of the media are unique, precious and fragile. During the past few years, I started experimenting with acrylic and oil water-based paints. I found these mediums to be interesting and a fun challenge, and I use my photographs as the main source of inspiration when playing around with new techniques as well.
I don’t know how my painting will emerge when I begin. I let it evolve and I trust the process of creativity, hoping at the end the painting will motivate, inspire and bring beauty to the people who view it
