I enjoy exploring the natural beauty found in wood, creating a form that brings out the wood’s natural color and unique grain. It is intriguing to to turn different species of wood, exploring the different grain patterns, colors, textures and sometimes aromas. I also enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to securely hold the piece of wood so it can be turned into the desired form. These include bowls, vases, ink pens, pepper mills and more. I utilize mostly wood salvaged from urban settings, house sites and logging sites, giving it new life as a wood turning.
